Pasadena Family Photography
A playful approach for families who value connection & authenticity, and love lifestyle photography

“I hired Gina for a mother-daughter shoot on the beach. Her talent and professionalism were unmistakable. She was sweet and patient with my daughter, somehow managing to keep her smiling and engaged for hours. The photos came out beautifully. There is a softness to Gina's photos. The way she uses light is stunning; and the way she captures love and connection between people is superb. Perhaps above all, working with Gina is fun! I highly recommend Gina Christine Photography.”

Becoming a mom changed everything
This is a self-portrait I took with him when he was three months old. At the time, I was desperately trying to reclaim myself as an artist — to return to self-portraiture, something I’ve always loved.
But as I settled deeper into motherhood, I realized making photos like this with my son wasn’t practical. I was mostly using my iPhone to document our days, and I hated how the images looked — so sharp and contrasty, nothing like the soft, fleeting, nostalgic feeling I associate with childhood.
So, I bought a small Fuji pocket camera from a friend. At first, it drove me crazy that the quality wasn’t like my pro gear. But over time, I fell in love with its quirks. I’m so grateful for the chance to take photos of my son on a daily basis — not perfect ones, but honest ones.
I’ve only been a mother for a few years, but I now know all those cheesy sayings are true: time really does play tricks on you. That’s why documenting families has never felt more important to me.
